From Dropout to
National Award Winner

Dr. Mohammad Azam Ali's story is one of extraordinary resilience — born into poverty in Chirlavancha village, Telangana, he once abandoned school to paste wall posters on the streets of Karimnagar just to survive.

The fifth child of a lorry driver and a daily-wage labourer, Azam grew up without meals, uniforms, or books. When his father abandoned the family, his mother Khalida Begum carried the household alone. A slogan he spotted while pasting posters — "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan – Sab Padhe, Sab Bade" — changed everything. His teachers supported him back to school, igniting a lifelong devotion to education.

Today, Dr. Azam Ali holds a Ph.D. in English from Kakatiya University and serves as an Assistant Professor. He is the Founder President of Chamak Foundation, an NGO empowering underprivileged children through education. He is a recipient of the President of India NSS National Award and the National Youth Award from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
